1-2-1 TRAINING

DO YOU:

  • prefer to learn on a 1-2-1 basis rather than in a group setting?
  • want to be trained at your own site and on dates that suit you?
  • want training tailored to your specific situation?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then 1-2-1 training could be the best solution for you.

We can come to your site or suggest a suitable location. 1-2-1 training may be the ideal solution for you if;

  • you feel you don’t need to attend the entire 5 day course;
  • the dates of our open courses don’t suit you or you need the training sooner than the next available course;
  • you would like to cover the content of the 5 day course in a shorter timescale;
  • you have hired or bought a total station and would like support to get up and running with it;
  • you prefer private tuition to group learning.

What are the fees for 1-2-1/ small group training?

Our trainer can work with you at a location that is convenient for you and at dates that suit you. If you have your own equipment, you can be trained on that or if you prefer, we can provide any equipment required.

1-2-1 training can be cost effective, as the training is tailored to your exact requirements. You don’t need to cover anything that’s not relevant to you and content can be covered in a shorter space of time, meaning less time off the job and more time being productive!

If you would like to cover the full content of the 5 day course, this can be covered in 3 days of 1-2-1 training.

If you would like tailored training but are not sure how much time you should book, give us a call on 0845 519 5632 and we will be happy to give you advice. You may need 1 or two days of training in person or only an hour’s support over Skype. The beauty of 1-2-1 training is that we can provide whatever is exactly right for you!

Even though we say 1-2-1, in reality we can work with up to 2 or 3 people in this way.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

1. FIRST OF ALL, we chat with you on the phone to help you decide the optimum duration for the training.
2. ON THE DAY of the training, the tutor will first chat with the trainee(s) to get a detailed of idea of everything that needs to be covered.

3. THEN they will build an agreed training plan.

OUR TRAINERS are very flexible and can adapt the training to meet your exact needs. They are also very patient and encouraging, so you can ask as many questions as you want and there is no rush whatsoever.

BUT if you prefer to learn at full speed ahead, then that’s also ok!

“Last year I decided to change career and come back to the Construction Industry from the Oil and Gas sector. I agreed with my new employer that they would send me on a setting out course as a refresher to setting out and to learn some new skills using a total station. Saffron came highly recommended so I contacted her and set up some 1 to 1 ‘on the job training’ which took place over 3 days. This was beneficial to me as I already had engineering experience and didn’t want to sit through a full week’s course covering the very basics and also let me discuss job specific engineering tasks while on site. Initially we covered the basics of setting up and calibrating a total station and setting up and carrying out a calibration check on a dumpy level. Lastly we did some practical checks, putting down steel packers and did some foundation bolt checks around one of our sites. All in all the training and attention to detail was excellent. Saffron is a traditional Engineer with vast experience. She highlighted the difference between training to use a total station and actually understanding the technical side to engineering practices, which I bear in mind on every job I go to.”
