Advancing Setting Out Skills Across The Industry
Glasgow isn’t just another stop on our course calendar, it’s where Setting Out For Construction is based. Our offices sit on West George Street in the city centre, and it’s from here that we’ve built a training programme now trusted by construction professionals right across Scotland and the wider UK.

Glasgow’s construction sector is one of the busiest in Scotland, and it shows no sign of slowing. From the ongoing regeneration around Sighthill and Clyde Gateway to housebuilding developments across the Southside and Braehead, and infrastructure work tied to the Glasgow City Region City Deal, there’s a constant demand for site engineers who can set out accurately and confidently from day one.
We work with contractors, housebuilders and civil engineering firms across the city, as well as individuals funding their own training to break into or progress within the industry.
Whether you’re setting out foundations for a new housing scheme in East Kilbride, working on infrastructure near the M8 and M74 corridor, or supporting a commercial fit-out in the city centre, our courses are designed to reflect the reality of a live Scottish construction site.

Whether you’re building a career on Glasgow sites or developing your team’s capability across Scotland, there’s a route that fits where you are right now.
Build a career in site engineering with training shaped around real Glasgow and Scottish sites. Our setting out courses give you the practical skills, qualifications and confidence to get hired and progress across the industry, whether you’re just starting out or already working towards a senior site engineer role.
Cut down on setting out errors on site, build genuine competence across your team, and reduce reliance on external engineers. Our corporate training solutions can be delivered at our Glasgow base or on-site anywhere in Scotland, ideal for contractors and housebuilders training multiple engineers or a graduate intake at once.
Partner with us to support surveying modules at Scottish colleges and universities. We give your students industry-standard, practical setting out training from a provider based right here in Glasgow, with the same credibility we bring to contractors and housebuilders across the city.

Our most popular course and the one most Glasgow delegates start with. A full week covering total stations, levels and the practical basics every site engineer needs, taught in small groups so everyone gets genuine hands-on time with the kit.
For engineers who already have site experience and want a recognised qualification to support progression into a senior site engineer role, particularly relevant given the competence requirements now expected under the Building Safety Act.
A five-day programme for those already working on site who want to sharpen technique and speed, rather than start from the basics.
Two days covering drawing interpretation and setting out data in AutoCAD, useful for engineers working alongside design teams on Glasgow’s larger commercial and infrastructure projects.
Responsive hands-on tuition, real site scenarios, and ongoing support — here’s what makes our setting out training different.
Choose a scheduled date at our Glasgow location or enquire about in-house training delivered at your site anywhere in Scotland.
All setting out training uses professional robotic total stations. Small groups mean every learner gets proper hands-on time throughout the week.

Whether you’re building a career on Glasgow sites or developing your company’s workforce across Scotland, there’s a route built for where you are.
We focus on building the real-world setting out skills and confidence Glasgow’s site engineers need to perform from day one. Our training is designed around outcomes, not attendance records.
Learning doesn’t stop when the course ends. Every delegate on our Glasgow courses gets ongoing access to our eLearning platform and community forum, plus the chance to attend future refresher courses and practice days at no extra cost.
We work with colleges and universities across Scotland on setting out and construction surveying modules, a level of academic credibility most commercial training providers in the Central Belt can’t claim.
Glasgow is one of 10 UK and Ireland locations where we run public setting out courses, alongside London, Kent, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Warrington, Bristol, Belfast and Dublin. Most competitors operate from a single base; we’re built into the fabric of Glasgow itself.
We train on multiple total station types, not just one, so Glasgow engineers are ready for whatever instrument they find on any construction site across the Central Belt or beyond.
Our ProQual Diploma in Engineering Surveying is aligned to the competence-proving requirements that have become critical since the Building Safety Act, helping Glasgow contractors and housing providers future-proof their workforce today.

None. Our 5-Day Setting Out Course is designed for complete beginners as well as those refreshing existing skills, with small groups so everyone gets equipment time regardless of starting level.

Attend any course again, any time, completely free. No other training provider offers this as standard.

Every learner leaves our 5-day setting out engineer course with our highly regarded text book and ongoing access to our eLearning platform.
